Principal's Message
Dear Wilson Middle School Families,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Wilson Middle School. As someone who had the privilege of walking the halls of Wilson as a student, it is an incredible honor to return to this community now as your principal. My journey has come full circle, and I couldn’t be more excited to serve the students, staff, and families who make this school so special.
Before coming to Wilson, I served as the principal of Lincoln Elementary School, where I had the pleasure of working with young learners and helping them develop a strong academic foundation. That experience has reinforced my belief in the power of education to shape lives, and I am eager to bring that same commitment and passion to Wilson Middle School.
At Wilson, we are dedicated to fostering a learning environment where all students feel seen, heard, and supported. My core values as an educator are rooted in being present in the lives of our students, building meaningful relationships, and creating a vibrant school culture. I believe that every student should feel they belong and are valued for who they are.
Our school serves approximately 550 students in grades 6 through 8, and we offer a wide range of clubs and sports designed to help students connect with their peers, explore their interests, and develop valuable skills. I encourage all of our students to get involved, whether it’s through joining a club, participating in sports, or engaging in any of the many other activities that make Wilson a vibrant and exciting place to learn.
This year, we are excited to announce the introduction of the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program at Wilson. AVID is a college-readiness system that focuses on helping students build the skills they need to succeed in high school and beyond. We believe that by introducing AVID, we can give our students even more tools to thrive academically and develop the mindset they need for future success.
I am looking forward to an amazing year at Wilson Middle School, and I am committed to working closely with our students, families, and staff to make this a place where every child can reach their full potential. If you have any questions or would like to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am always here to support you and your child.
Together, let’s build a strong, inclusive, and thriving Wilson Middle School community.
Warm regards,
Tara Sharp, Principal
